Story
Edfu Foundation, in association with the Kwanzaa Accords, is launching the 10 Days Of Junteenth: June 19-29, 2020.
Juneteenth celebrations go all the way back to the 1800s and started in the South of the USA, when the last state (Texas) read the Emancipation Proclamation to free slaves on June-19. Since then, this holiday has been the center of the Civil Rights movement and the rights for black Americans.
Edfu Foundation is bringing 10 days of content with prominent speakers and figures working, helping, and fighting for equal rights and treatment in the black community. We will also celebrate with spreading knowledge, opening up discussions with important dialogue, and showcasing the arts.
