Story

In February of 2013 our loved on John Braun, was diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) and we were introduced to a very cruel disease without survivors. We quickly learned that this disease was widely unknown to the vast majority and was without a cure.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is more than a cause remembered best by dumping a bucket of ice over your head or grainy footage and newspaper clippings of New York Yankees great Lou Gehrig. It is a crippling disease that takes life away from a person before causing death.

It was shortly after John Passed away in February 2014 that we as the Braun Family decided that we could make a difference by raising awareness about the disease and raising funds to find a cure for ALS.

ALS Steps for Hope was held for the first time in September 2014, and has donated over $76,000 to ALS Research at the Marshfield Clinic. We have also brought together numerous families throughout Wisconsin who have battled this terrible disease, or who have lost a loved one to ALS.

Our goal is to find a cure so that one day we can say - there is no more ALS.
