The Guild Chest is a benevolent fund for the benefit of Guild members and their dependants in financial need. It is administered in strict confidence by its Trustees, who will consider any reasonable request on terms to be agreed. It can offer interest-free loans to help with ill health or bereavement, or to cover a temporary or more serious cash-flow situation.

The Chest's funds are purely comprised of donations made by Guild members. A collection is made at the beginning of each year, on Master's Night, and is then deposited into a bank account which is managed solely by the Guild Chest Trustees, until an application is made. This year, due to Covid restrictions, we cannot meet in person for Master's Night, and therefore will not be able to make the usual collection of donations. We have instead set up this Just Giving page, so that donations can be made by members virtually. This year, more than ever, The Guild Chest is an important resource for those members in need, and we hope that those who are able to, will give generously.
