The British Horse Society promotes and protects everything that is dear to you and your horse. For 70 years we have been a strong equestrian voice. We'll continue supporting horses and riders, and you can too.

Road Safety

Since November 2010, it's been reported to The BHS that 39 riders and 230 horses have died in road collisions. Your donations will help us reach even more drivers, advising how to pass horses safely. It allows us to continue our collaborative work with the Police, and Government to increase safety on our roads.

Off-road Routes

We extend, protect and maintain thousands of safe off-road routes for generations of riders to enjoy. Your donations allow us to continue to respond to over 6,000 threats to multi-user routes across the UK.

Horse Welfare

We respond to over 6,000 welfare cases each year, but there are thousand more in need our help. We offer support and advise to owners to prevent a horse getting to the point of being rescued. Your donations support our core welfare work - including reaching the most vulnerable communities with our Healthcare and Education Clinics, reducing indiscriminate breeding.

Future Generations

Horses are a powerful way of inspiring disengaged young people to reconnect with society. Your donations support our Changing Lives programme, teaching young people key life skills, and that they have a valued place within society.
