Dreams Come True are a national charity whose mission is to enrich the lives of children and young people with serious and life-limiting conditions, by fulfilling their dreams.

For some, a dream could be to meet their heroes or to spend a couple of days away to forget their troubles. For others, it could be something simpler like having a room to call their own or an accessible bike that allows them to ride with their family and friends.

No matter the dream, if it is fulfilled it can create feelings of security, happiness, and joy. Which for children and young people with life-limiting conditions can bring a sense of hope and normality to their lives.

The children and young people we support often have to cope with endless rounds of hospital visits, painful treatments, and the prospect of living with a long-term debilitating condition.

The impact of COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on the lives of our Dreams families having to self-isolate, missing out on education and having treatments delayed only add to the worries and create an unimaginable level of stress.

Sadly, meaning that their dreams are more at risk of being forgotten.

But it does not have to be this way.

We can and must work together to make sure all those who need a dream, get what they so desperately deserve.
