Mixteca has been supporting the Sunset Park community since the early days of the AIDS crisis 20 years ago. When unprecedented health and economic upheaval reached our city in March 2020, Mixteca sprang into action by providing meals, personal protective equipment, rent assistance, burial assistance, and repatriation assistance to immigrant families across Brooklyn--all while continuing to provide our hallmark programming such as ESL classes, immigration rights workshops, and health and wellness services.

This was only possible because of the efforts of Mixtecas amazing staff and thanks to the contributions of individual donors who helped fill the gaps in funding. We don't know what 2021 will bring, but one thing we know for sure is we will continue to stand with and empower our community so they can face whatever comes.
