Story

Your donation this Christmas can help us build stronger, healthier and inclusive online communities.

Online abuse is a huge problem. Despite it making the headlines, there is very little mention of those who are most frequent targets online: women, people of colour and LGBTQIA people. The impact of online abuse for people from minoritised backgrounds is devastating. Many in our community are sharing the social, financial or professional impact of online abuse. One person said:

I try to spend less time online but I live alone and my health isn't great so it means really becoming isolated and depending on a few trusted friends to stay in contact with rather than connecting with my community more widely. I definitely feel my performance at work has suffered and I feel at risk of sanction or not having my contract renewed due to the impact on my ability to focus and my mental health.

We cannot let online abuse continue to have such a damaging effect on our mental health, stifle our right to engage freely online and erode our democracy. All we want for Christmas is a safe internet for all, and you can help us get there by supporting our work.

We build stronger, healthier and inclusive online communities through

- Workshops and training for those most affected by online abuse, equipping people from minorities backgrounds to participate in political and public life

- Holding government and tech companies to account, shaping innovative UK legislation with womens safety at its heart

- Building a generation of digital citizens who can engage positively, respectfully and justly in all digital spaces.

We really appreciate your support this Christmas - together we can make a safe internet a reality. Thank you!

Glitch is an award-winning UK charity committed to ending online abuse by educating people on how they can engage positively, respectfully and justly in all digital spaces. And empowering them to advocate for others. Especially those in marginalised communities. Through research and reports, toolkits and guides, workshops and training, were here to help make digital citizens of everyone. We can all play our part. It starts with us, now.
