Story
The Lillian Goodfellow Group of Friends was created by Julie Hayward after the tragic passing of her mother, Lilian Goodfellow in January 1999. Ever since then, Julie Hayward and a group of her friends: Debra Wyatt, Jo Hayward and Tina Jacobs have endeavoured to raise money in the name of Lilian Goodfellow for Marie Curie Hospice in Solihull; a wonderful facility that has continued to help people through difficult times.
However, running the hospice is not cheap. On average, it costs around £11,000 a day to operate and provide much-needed care and support for those attending. Unfortunately, it doesn't receive any local authority or government funding and so relies solely upon generous donations from members of the public.
Since their formation in 1999, LGGF have raised £423,000 and are hoping to reach £500,000 by the end of their 20th year. HUHO has a personal affiliation to the local charity as one of it's supporters, Julie Orme, who found the group when diagnosed with breast cancer 5 years ago, is our Trustee, Martin Lake's sister-in-law.
We saw first hand, the positive impact and support the group gave Julie during her ordeal and wanted to help them reach that target in whatever way we could.
So on July 20th 2019, 9 members of Pure Cloud Solutions and Help Us Help Others will be leaving common sense at the door and jumping head first into a tandem skydive, all in the name of a worthwhile cause. All of the money raised from generous donations will go directly to charity.
