Story
Harvest is a time for giving, a time for thanks and for recognising and sharing with those less fortunate. At Turning Tides, we have always been delighted to attend and give thanks at Harvest services and so thankful to receive generous collections of food items from faith groups and schools across West Sussex. Last year we received food to the value of £25k from faith groups and schools which fed local homeless men and women through the following winter months.
Covid-19 has presented us with challenges and we have had to carefully rethink our approach to Harvest this year. We have to ensure that everyone remains safe and transporting multiple items from homes, to schools and churches and then on to our projects inevitably increases the risk of infection.
Financial donations will enable us to purchase essential items according to need and, crucially, plan carefully to provide enough food for our clients for the full year ahead. The donations will also enable us to buy fresh produce which supports better health and immunity at this critical time.
Covid-19 is hugely increasing the demand on our services and we need to raise funds at least equal to the 25k worth of food we so generously received last year from our community so we really hope you will help us to achieve, and ideally surpass, this target. We are incredibly grateful to have your support as we try to feed increasing numbers of homeless men and women - never has your support been more critical.
Harvest has a huge part to play in helping us rise to this challenge. Harvest also embodies a spirit of togetherness and solidarity that is so important and so needed at the moment Thank you for being a Hero at Harvest and joining with us in a different type of Harvest this year.
Additionally, we would like to say thank you to Higgidy Family Kitchen for supporting our Harvest Appeal this year too!
