Visit the charity's profileFor many Christmas is a much anticipated and joyful period of the year to celebrate and share with the company of loved ones. For those rough sleeping the experience is very different though. Sleeping on the streets of London is dangerous and often freezing, yet it simply does not have to happen. Help us raise £30,000 this Christmas so that we can support 50 rough sleepers off the streets and in to accommodation this festive period.
*December 14th Update*
.Were very pleased to report that so far this month weve been able to help sixteen people off the streets. Eight of these have gone into night shelters- including one of our particularly entrenched long term rough sleepers. We also found places for five people in different hostels where they will get specific support and three people have moved into private rented accommodation. These include one man who had been sleeping at Paddington Station and another man who had been spending the nights at Heathrow airport.
*December 11th Update*
So far this December we've found places off the street for nine homeless people although mostly these have only been temporary arrangements. We've taken two people into our Westminster Winter Night Shelter (and were particularly pleased as this included one of our really long term entrenched rough sleepers). We got two more people into another night shelter and several into hostels where they will be getting specialist support: one person into a special hostel for people with alcohol problems, another into a women's hostel here in Marylebone and two others into a hostel in Westminster. And we supported another person who had been sleeping outside a church in Marylebone into private rented accommodation.

This is a safe place and I don't have that in life. ... Everywhere else I go I experience harassment and feel like its kind of dangerous and like I need to be always on alert. Here, I can feel safe.
