Story
Kinghorn Community Land Associations (KCLA) main aim is to protect the environment by acquiring and/or conserving land or land assets for the public benefit around Kinghorn and to aid community regeneration in a way that does not adversely affect the rural environment.
Lovells, the housebuilder, has been building the Lochside Grange estate in Kinghorn since 2017 and applied for planning permission to build an additional 7 houses on the piece of land to the north of Oak Street. They have been in touch with KCLA about us buying this land back at a cost of £6,000 (this does not include KCLA legal or professional fees, estimated at £2,000).
We would welcome the opportunity to buy this land for the Kinghorn community. We think this piece of land will be useful in our wider plans for the Wild Meadow Eco Cemetery.
In the coming weeks we will be consulting with local residents.
As a small local charity working on behalf of the Kinghorn community, weve been working hard with funders to make the Wild Meadow Eco Cemetery a reality. Through funding from Fife Environment Trust (FET) were delighted that work has started on all the tree planting on site, but we dont have the funds available to buy the buyback land from Lovells.
Can you help us to secure the land for Kinghorn? Were looking for your support to make this happen! Please donate.
