A donation of £25 will help pay for the cost of one driving lesson for a Barnet looked after child or care leaver. £50 will provide them a valuable two hour lesson.

Any donation, no matter what size, helps. £10 will go towards funding our Imagination Trust scheme, giving Barnet's looked after children and care leavers the opportunity to explore their passions and interests.

Live Unlimited was set up in December 2017 to provide extra support, inspiration and opportunities for Barnet's looked after children and care leavers.

As some of the most vulnerable members of society, the life chances of children taken into care are significantly poorer than their peers raised by their birth families. You can read more about why we are needed here

At the heart of everything we do is our vision that all children who spend time in Barnet's care should have equal chances to lead happy and fulfilling lives as those children living with their birth families.

Our pilot scheme is the Imagination Trust, a small grants application scheme, of between £25 and £250 to enable Barnet's looked after children and care leavers to explore their passions and interests while at the same time boosting their health, wellbeing and transferable skills. Some of the grants we've funded since our launch in February 2018 include:

* Paying for Italian summer school for a languages student to boost her employability skills

* Paying for a sign language course to help a young care leaver fulfil her dream of becoming a social worker for hearing impaired children

* Buying some tools for an aspiring mechanical engineer to complete his qualification

Eddie* successfully applied for funding for a return flight to Spain to take part in a 300km trek with a group of 12 other care leavers. He says:

In the New Year we will be launching a driving lessons scheme, giving young people the opportunity to boost their life and employability skills.

As any parent will know, driving lessons are extremely costly, averaging £25 per lesson. By making a donation you will be helping give this group of people a vital life skill.
