Story

After a two-year hiatus, we are excited that Panto is back at Macrobert and we are able to launch our 2022 Christmas Appeal.

There's often nothing better than the feeling you get at Christmas sitting down to watch the yearly Pantomime, joining in with the shouts of 'he's behind you' or booing and hissing at the baddie. It's a great tradition for many families throughout December, bringing people together and celebrating the joys of the festive period.

Unfortunately, there are many people from disadvantaged backgrounds living in our communities that never get to enjoy the experience of live theatre and for many families taking children to Pantomime at a time of year when finances are already stretched will be a low priority. Christmas should be a magical time for everyone and we don't want anyone to miss out.

PAMIS is working in partnership with Clackmannanshire Council Family Wellbeing Team enabling our young children who live with severe complex health and disabilities to access out of school activity events at the Macrobert Arts Centre where families can be together in a safe space enjoying appropriate accessible activities. I know that Freya would enjoy the Christmas Panto however due to her intense medical needs she would only be able to manage around 20 minutes of being part of the audience until she needed a medical intervention in a private quiet space. Provision of prepaid tickets will enable our children to access the Panto at times when is safe and comfortable for them without families worrying about the expense.

That is why we are asking our community to join forces with us by donating towards the cost of Pantomime tickets for disadvantaged children, young people, families, and older members of our community who cannot otherwise afford to attend.

Since 2012 thanks to the support of people like you, we have been able to gift around 4000 Panto tickets to those in need of an extra smile at this time of year. Working with more than 20 local charities, we will help to spread the magic of Christmas throughout Forth Valley.

This year, we aim to give away around 1000 tickets and would be extremely grateful if you would consider supporting our Appeal to help us share a bit of Christmas sparkle. Each £20 donation enables us to give the gift of one ticket to those who will benefit the most.
