Story
Christy Cantrell was on a family vacation when she found a lump. After some tests and biopsies, she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at the age of 43.
At the Regional Cancer Center, Christy met a caring team, including a breast cancer navigator, who is specially trained to help patients with everything from understanding a diagnosis to filling out insurance forms.
Christy also attended the Multidisciplinary Breast Clinic, which brings specialists together in one place to develop a treatment plan. The clinic includes one-on-one assessments with the oncologist, surgeon and the radiation oncologist.
Post-treatment, Christy was referred to a physical therapist and acupuncturist to help with her pain.
