Story
Beryl came into the care of Ryedale dog rescue as a young unclaimed stray from the council pound. When she arrived she had numerous part healed wounds and scars from previous incidents . With plenty of TLC she has recovered from her physical wounds but will always carry of the scars from her previous life .
It is doubtful she had ever recieved professional veterinary treatment before coming to us and unfortunately on her first visitto the surgery it was uncovered she has a serious heart problem . Following further investigation by our vets and specialist she was diagnosed with patent Ductus artertiosus (PDA) . This is a condition where the patent Ductus should have closed shortly after birth but hasn't and will cause profound changes to Beryls heart function. The operation needed has a high success rate and PDA can be cured. If left untreated Beryl will likely develop heart failure which would lead to an early death. She is such a happy young dog who really deserves a second chance after such a traumatic start in life.
Any funds raised during this campaign will go towards Beryls medical treatment and extensive aftercare. Any excess funds will be used for the care and rehoming of other RDR dogs. If we do not reach our target RDR will of course endeavour to raise the extra funds via our general fundraising activities.
