We are fundraising to continue vital treatment during school holidays.
After being born a very healthy bouncing boy, Riley suffered a non accidental injury at 7 weeks old. Following 5 weeks in hospital he was discharged into our care under an emergency foster placement. We then went on to be granted a special guardianship order shortly after.
As a result of Rileys horrific injuries he was left with the following life long debilitating disabilities.
Riley has a whole host of conditions, such as - unilateral cerebral palsy, gastroesophogeal reflux, global developmental delay, sensory processing issues, he is registered blind and non verbal due to the brain injury, to name but a few.
To keep Riley happy and healthy he participates in various therapies to combat each physical and sensory need. It also helps keep him as mobile and independent as possible which we all want for our kiddos.
He takes part in hydrotherapy, rebound therapy, physiotherapy, sensory intergration therapy, hippotherapy.
All of the above are as vital as each other to maintain Rileys overall health. Hippotherapy was a huge turning point for us as the horse was brilliant in strengthening Rileys core and it was from this that we saw our first major gross motor skill in Riley learning to sit unaided!
During term time, Riley receives these treatments prescribed from a consultant, but during holidays, the funding stops, and at around £250 per week, this is impossible to find ourselves.
Any support you can give will really help Riley continue the much needed support he gets during school terms.
(Any un-used funds will go directly to BLF to help another child, should Riley not need to use all funds)
