St. Martin's Church Halls

Capmpaign Update
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to our fund raising campaign for the refurbishment of our Halls. Work is now well underway and we hope to re-open the halls in the very near future.
===========================================
The Huxtable Hall, or St Martin's Church Hall, as it is more widely known, was opened in 1959 and has been a community hub ever since. Sadly, our hall building is showing its age and a recent electrical inspection revealed the need for a full rewire and although we have a hall repair fund it will not come close to covering the cost of a full rewire and necessary redecoration, nor indeed the continuing internal and external refurbishment.
When we launched this campaign we also applied for a grant to help fund the necessary works and have recently received confirmation that our application was successful. However, we still need to raise just over £6,000 towards the planned works.
Generations of Girl Guides, Brownies and Rainbows have passed through the hall doors. Two separate generations of St Martins Drama Groups, the current group for 30 years, have entertained hundreds in the local community, young and old alike, with pantomimes, plays and murder mystery evenings.
Currently apart from Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and St Martins Drama Group; Craft Groups, Dance Schools, Retirement Organisations, WI, Mother and Baby, Slimming Classes and Exercise Groups rely on the hall for their venue.
Many of you will have celebrated a birthday, anniversary, engagement or wedding reception in the hall, attended a quiz night, summer fete or Christmas bazaar, all enjoyed by the congregation and wider community.
Please, if you would have been making use of the hall currently, were it not for the national situation; have in the past had occasion to enjoy an event, if you, your children or grandchildren have been part of a uniformed group or attended a pantomime or party, quiz night, fete or bazaar, please consider making a one-off donation, helping ensure the future of the Huxtable Hall. In these straitened times each and every donation will be greatly valued for its contribution to a larger whole. We thank you.
In the (unlikely) event that we raise sufficient funds to complete this project then any excess would be placed in a restricted fund that would only be used for future repairs and maintenance of the hall, thus preserving the hall as a community resource for future generations.
