Story
Each year, the Novi are challenged to spend the night in cardboard shelters that they have built in the Quad to raise awareness of homelessness, as well as learning from those who Porchlight has helped get off the streets and back in control of their lives.
This year, the boys will also participate in activities throughout the morning after the Sleepout that will help them understand the main routes to homelessness and the randomness of luck and chance behind peoples lives, and to challenge their thinking behind cause and blame.
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected everyone in one way or another. Unfortunately, people who are homeless, vulnerable and at risk of becoming homeless have been hit the hardest. The most vulnerable in our communities are struggling under the weight of financial strain and the pandemics devastating impact on mental health. This year more than 9,300 individuals were supported by Porchlight and their partners, and while Porchlight has been able to adapt effectively to new ways of working and make sure that the people who need them most are not left behind, there are more challenges to come.
Please support in whatever way you can to help Porchlight to support the most vulnerable in Kent.
