So many children have felt isolated and overwhelmed during the pandemic. Children starting life facing the deepest disadvantage, have often struggled the most. 43% of children live in poverty in Camden. This means that the families we support have fewer opportunities. They have less resources to 'catch up'. We worry that they will now fall further behind.
As lockdown eased, we were able to open up the Winch to more children. We began to notice a difference in their wellbeing. The more they engaged with us and each other, the happier and more confident they seemed. When children experienced difficulties, we were able to step in and help. Now, we need your help to build on the positive momentum we have created. We need your help to unlock more opportunities and to sustain our work.
During the pandemic, neighbours came together to support each other. We saw that we can build a kinder, more connected community. We know how much we can achieve when we work together. You can help raise awareness of the Winch as well as raise vital funds to help secure the future of our children. We can do this together and we can have fun this Halloween.
