Story

On Sunday 20th October, Alison OFarrell is running in the Amsterdam Marathon to raise money for our homelessness charity Rhythms of Life. Alison started volunteering with us in August and is keen to help in every way she can. This will be her fifth marathon run and she wants to see the sponsorship money she raises make a real difference to peoples lives.

Alison explains: My dad always taught me that we should do all we could to help the the common man and to give people their dignity. Volunteering with the homelessness charity Rhythms of Life has made me realise the important they work do is not just in providing food, clothing and toiletries to those in need but the volunteers are always ready to lend a listening ear to the people in the queue. We also offer work experience for homeless people, as well as training in in life skills, IT, English and literacy to give people the confidence and skills to find accommodation and jobs.

Rhythms of Life is a small charity run totally by volunteers and relies solely on donations. Everyone here at Rhythms of Life wishes Alison the best of luck for her big run. We hope that you will share in giving her our massive support by sponsoring Alison. Every penny she raises will go directly towards providing food, clothing and support for London's growing homeless population.
