Currently our Lifeboats, located in Belfast Marina, are open to the elements (and the Seagulls!). Maintaining a boat constantly exposed to weather and other undesirable deposits is a huge undertaking requiring not just time but money.

A Floating Boat House is the best solution for the area we operate in, not just to protect the boats but to also have all the equipment our crew require immediately on hand when responding to urgent callouts. This boathouse will truly be a landmark in Belfast Harbour, another triumph of engineering on the waters of Belfast.

As one of the busiest Lifeboat stations in the United Kingdom operating one of the fastest, most technologically advanced Lifeboats, a dedicated floating boathouse would further enable us to meet our service aim of having the boat launched within 10 minutes of us being called out by Belfast Coastguard and futureproofing the service as we develop it further.

As Belfast's Independent Lifeboat Service we are immensely proud to serve the people of this great City and that we can provide them with an Independent Lifeboat Service they can be proud of.

In accordance with the Fundraising Code of Practice, paragraph 2.7.5 we state: Should this campaign raise more than the intended target, the extra funds received shall be used by Lagan Search & Rescue towards general running costs. If the campaign fails to reach the intended target the funds already donated shall be used by Lagan Search & Rescue towards general running costs.
