Story
Our Christmas carol concert will raise vital funds to support unpaid carers this Christmas.
There are an estimated 7 million carers in the UK - that's 1 in 10 people. 3 in 5 of us will become a carer in our lifetime.
Carers Trust is proud to support more than 450,000 carers, including over 47,000 young carers. With your support this Christmas, we will be able to reach even more carers who need our help.
Carers like Ella, who is 25 and spends over 100 hours a week caring for her parents. Her parents have complex health problems including Parkinson's and dementia and rely on Ella to meet their caring needs, being reluctant to ask for outside help. As a result, Ella has found it hard to maintain a job. So she was relying on Carers Allowance of £67.25 a week.
But Ella is interested in holistic therapies and wanted to start her own business. With the help of her local carers service she successfully applied for a grant from Carers Trust, which has paid for courses to help her get her business started.
Grants are just one of the many ways Carers Trust supports unpaid carers in need. Your support this Christmas could make a real difference:
Thank you so much for your support this Christmas!
