Chance and Kristina Pope have called Kansas City home since they were both children. They met through mutual friends and have been together for 11 years, married for 6. Chance is the Director of Operations at Bestway International, a local logistics company, and Kristina is a Project Manager at Netsmart, a KC based healthcare technology provider. They love traveling, live music, having fun with friends, and finding ways to give back to the community they love. As downtown residents, they enjoy taking the streetcar, walking the city, and being part of all that makes Kansas City such a special place. Their connection to The Children's Place began through Chance's former boss, Kevin Martinez who has been a longtime advocate for The Children's Place. Since then, they have attended several Children's Place events, and Chance has had the opportunity to read to the children in the classroom. These experiences have given them a deeper appreciation for the organization's work helping children and families heal from trauma. They are excited to serve as Tastemakers this year because they believe in the mission of The Children's Place and love the opportunity to bring people together for a great cause. They feel lucky to live in a city where it's so easy to get involved, meet great people, and support causes that matter.
