Over the last year, the needs of the children, young people and adults who rely on us have become much more pronounced.

We need your help to continue to be able to respond to urgent needs in individuals and communities as they arise.

The Sunflower Appeal 2021 is an uplifting opportunity for everyone in our Chickenshed family to get involved in a way that suits you.

The sunflower is a flower that always looks towards the light - they are totally unique in that they have the ability to provide energy in the form of nourishment and vibrancy - attributes which mirror the sun and the energy provided by its heat and light.

The qualities of the sunflower resonate deeply with the qualities of the children, young people and adults who benefit from our sustainable programmes.

- £10 helps us make contact with a vulnerable child and their family.

- £100 enables us to give one-to-one support to young people experiencing mental health problems.

- £1,000 helps our graduate trainees to deliver a workshop to at-risk children

Chickenshed champions difference through inclusion, to enrich lives and transform our world. Through inclusive theatre we aim to empower individuals, change hearts and minds and transform institutions.

Every year, Chickenshed supports over 15,000 children, young people and adults within the community to feel confident, valued and empowered. 60% experience disadvantage and are often excluded in other areas of their lives - due to mental or physical health challenges, gang-related pressures, being a young carer or experience of the care system often a combination of these challenges.

The outcomes that Chickenshed can evidence for the individuals who we nurture are; increased confidence to connect, self-awareness, self-worth, empathy and self-efficacy. These, combined with awoken creativity and increased motivation, can be observed to be the impetus for subsequent deeper engagement in community projects and activity.
