CORE stands for the Centre for Osteopathic Research and Excellence. We were founded on the belief that everybody has the right to a pain free life, and to study the effectiveness of osteopathy on those suffering from chronic pain. Today there is a growing global addiction to pain medication and a rapid increase in reported cases of chronic pain. In response, we work tirelessly to find effective non-surgical or drug-related pain treatment.

CORE Clapton is a pioneering social healthcare clinic, set up in 2016 to achieve equality of pain management by providing reduced cost and free osteopathic treatment to those who normally could not afford it.

Osteopathy is a drug free, non-invasive therapy which prevents, detects and treats pain through manual manipulation of the musculoskeletal framework while treating the patient holistically. Osteopathy promotes the bodys ability to heal itself without immediate recourse to drugs or surgery. The practice is proven to be as effective for musculoskeletal and chronic pain as prescription drugs.

Osteopathy has traditionally been a private healthcare option, pricing out many patients that need the care most. This is reflected in the industry average of only 5% of patients hailing from black, asian and ethnic minority communities. At CORE, our innovative and philanthropic model allows us to be different; and we are proud that 39% of our patients are from ethnically diverse backgrounds with 50% coming from low-income households. We feel that these two statistics alone highlight both the need for and the benefit our clinic is providing within the community.

As with a lot of charities recently, the cost of living crisis is putting our charitable endeavours at serious risk (Help for Heroes have just closed 3 of their rehab facilities, eek!). But we're determined as ever to make our innovative model of subsidised healthcare continue to be a reality for low income household.
