Since 1970 Cranleigh Rotary has through various activities and events supported many local, national and international Charities. An annual event is the Christmas and New Year Fundraising Appeal which for 2021 will be a street collection carried out by club members in Cranleigh High Street on the 17th & 18th December. In addition donations can be made through Just Giving until the 31st January 2022.
For 2021/2022 the charities to benefit from the appeal will be a local and international Charirty. The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and the Afghan Crisis Apeal following a year that for both charities and for different reasons can only be described as VERY CHALLENGING.
Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care provides supportive and end of life care to adult patients and their families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness in West Surrey and part of North East Hampshire. Every day the service supports nearly 300 patients, carers and realtives at the Hospice, out in the community or in the patients' own home.
The Afghan Crisis Appeal is funding the work of Medecins Sans Frontires / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Afghanistan. MSF is delivering life-saving medical care to people caught in the Afghanistan crisis. MSF is currently running five projects, including hospitals, in some of the largest cities to provide both emergency and everyday medical care. Medical teams act fast to save peoples lives in conflict zones, natural disasters and epidemics. MSF go where they are needed most.
In order for both these charities to continue with their work your support is needed more than ever before.
