At Citizens Advice Gateshead we have committed to doing everything in our power to stand up for equality and strive for a fair society for all, with lives well lived.
As a local Gateshead charity we have been there for literally thousands of people this year. They've needed us more than ever before in our 60 year history, and we know that in 2021 demand will be even higher. But we can only stretch our limited resources so far. So we are asking for your help now, to invest in our capacity to help thousands more families when they need us most.

Youre probably already well versed with Citizens Advice. But you may not have realised that were a local charity that relies on donations from local people and businesses to keep doing what we do best, and to make sure you can rest assured that if you or your family are ever unfortunate enough to need our help well be there for you too.
We are over the moon to have recently been awarded a grant to appoint a volunteer programme lead, to boost our volunteer recruitment. Our plan is now to recruit at least 50 more volunteers by the Spring, to meet the increasing demand for help in some of our local communities that are facing real hardship. But every one of these volunteers will need to be trained thats where you come in.
Your donation of £1000 will sponsor the training of four volunteers and improve more than a thousand Gateshead families lives
Volunteers' services come free, but to have the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver impartial, relevant and empowering advice and information to the standard you would rightly expect from a charity that bears the badge of Citizens Advice rigorous training is needed. £1000 will enable us to train four volunteers. We think thats a sound investment, as volunteers on average stay with us for 2 to 3 years so if they volunteer 1 day a week, between them those four volunteers can help to improve more than 1000 Gateshead families lives.
