Visit the charity's profileBright Futures UK supports children and young people back into education after having their education disrupted by ongoing serious illness. Our practical support empowers young people to reach their true potential, making sure illness doesn't define them.
With your support, we provide mentoring, tutoring and workshops to children and young people aged 5 to 24 who have had to take time out of education because of a long term medical condition - whether mental and physical.
We run programmes in hospital wards, at home and virtually. Our services have so far helped over 1,000 children with all types of illness.
Before Bright Futures UK, Zach was feeling really low and isolated after missing out on school due to treatment. The BFUK team were so kind and caring. They definitely made going back to school less daunting for Zach. Without the help BFUK provided, I don't know how Zach would have coped. They really are a lifeline!
Our founders know first-hand the impact that illness can have on education. Josh & Nathalie co-founded Bright Futures UK after their own experiences of battling cancer growing up. They saw how little support was offered by education providers, councils or the Government to help children and young people back into school throughout illness and after. In 2017, Bright Futures UK was born: shaking up the charity world and becoming the first and only UK charity to solve that problem.
