Story

Chair of the Sustainable Food Trust, Anthony Rodale, is Running for Harmony.

In support of the Sustainable Food Trusts newly launched Harmony Project, Anthony is running the Trans Atlas Marathon in Morocco this June one of the most difficult ultra-marathons in the world, comprising 229km of mountainous terrain, over six days - a marathon each day!

Anthony is Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Sustainable Food Trust, a UK-based charity accelerating the transition to more sustainable food and farming systems on a global level.

As Anthony says, The Harmony Project is set to go global! By inspiring people to re-connect with nature in their own way, we can collectively enhance our thinking, realise and enjoy our hidden talents and passions, improve the way we organise ourselves, and appreciate the value of others and our natural resources. We will be able to lift spirits, morale and self-worth , in favour of a positive, forward-thinking, caring and productive approach to life. All of these things are key ingredients to a better life, and are fundamental Harmony principles, inspired by the way that Nature works to maintain balance, well-being and harmony.

Funds raised will be used by the Sustainable Food Trust to support our work on Harmony, which includes the delivery of a variety of resources to schools across the world, including the newly launched Harmony in Education Teachers Guide, as well as workbooks and project outlines. Funds will also enable visits and conversations to enable schools, food producers and reform and rehabilitation organisations to learn about and implement principles of Harmony both in the UK and globally.

Anthony says, If youd like to sponsor me, I would be sincerely grateful. I see this as the beginning for many of us as runners, artists, athletes, entertainers, and many others with such hidden talents, to be part of our Harmony journey and perhaps join our community to raise funds for a harmonious future.

About the Harmony Project :

Created in 2018, The Harmony Project recognises the impact of human activity on the natural world, and humankinds' increasing disconnection from Nature. The Project is founded on the strongly held belief that the solutions to these problems are close at hand. By learning from Nature about principles that maintain balance, well-being and Harmony and from studying the teachings of timeless wisdom and traditions we are able to create healthier and more sustainable systems, and ways of living and being.

The Harmony Project is focused on three main areas of work, Harmony in Education, Harmony in Food and Farming, and Living in Harmony. We aim to raise an awareness of Harmony as a new way of thinking about the world, and to establish a global community of Harmony Practitioners. This fits in with our wider mission to promote sustainable practice beyond food and farming, and to nurture a deeper understanding of the impact that the choices we make, and the actions we take, have at a local and a global level.
