Story
Harvest Festival reminds us of all the good things in life and for everything we have to be thankful for. Harvest is a time for giving, a time for thanks and for recognising and sharing with others who have fallen upon hard times.
As the long term economic reality of Covid is now really starting to bite in our communities, we are seeing a rapidly increasing number of people coming to us for support. So many are seeking help for the first time as they tackle job loss, bereavement and poor mental health. Another consequence of the pandemic has been increasing food poverty ranging from being worried about where the next meal may come from to actually going hungry on a regular basis.
Never before have we had to rely on the goodwill of our communities at this time of year as we do right now, as we try to meet an increasing demand for our services.
Any monetary donation will mean that we can buy essential items according to need, and plan carefully to provide enough food for people experiencing homelessness through the year ahead. Donations will also enable us to buy fresh produce which supports better health and immunity - so critical, particularly for those who sleep rough.
Anyone who would like to be a Hero for people experiencing homelessness, can donate to our Harvest appeal to support the growing number of people without a place to call home, reliant on our services for the essentials in life.
