Story
Imagine a world where all children and young people were taught lessons about self-awareness and compassion, hope and optimism, self-regulation, flexible and realistic thinking and the importance of human connections as part of their core education. Life skills that build mental resilience and emotional wellbeing - key attributes needed for success.
Lets equip our next generation with the skills they need to thrive in a work beyond education.
There is so much evidence to show that teaching this in school leaves a long arm into adult outcomes such as, physical health, life satisfaction, mental health, and successful employment.
Lord Richard Layard, ermitus professor of economics at the London School of Economics and a life long researcher into what makes us happy tells us, if we wish to predict which children will lead satisfying adult lives, the best indicator is their emotional health at age 16. This is more important than their academic qualifications right up to the age of 25 and more important than their behaviour in childhood.
There is no exam for life skills and so it falls far behind other academic subjects.
100s of schools are already teaching Bounce Forward lessons, but we want to reach 1000s more.
This is evidence-based, good quality teaching and learning to equip the future generation with what they need to be healthy, agile, social and successful citizens. It seems obvious we should be teaching this right?!
We need your help to reach more children and young people.
