Our much loved pre-school (Holt, Wiltshire) has been successfully running for over 50 years but is now in need of a new building. The pre-school is not for profit, fully inclusive with strong community links. It runs fundraising events, visits local community groups including the Luncheon Club, distributes food vouchers to those families in need and provides advice and support to families. Without a new building, the pre-school will have to close.

The new building will be eco-friendly (Passivhaus building) with a green living roof and solar panels helping to support our pledge to reduce our carbon footprint and teach the children about the environment. It will provide the children with a safer route into the pre-school grounds (via a new footpath) encouraging the children to walk or scoot to pre-school. It will be available for community use, supporting local community groups, providing training, volunteering and work opportunities, enabling us to run a number of fundraising events to be enjoyed by all, ensuring that our families and children can access good quality early years education and be ready for their journey on to primary school. It will also be used as a breakfast club to help working families and those who need help with school drop off.

Our fundraising committee (Charity 1193266) have raised an impressive £155,000 from Lottery funding, community grants, local businesses, environmental grants, fundraising, inspiration from Captain Toms 100 promises and from pre-school reserves. We are continuing to apply for grants to reach our target of £200,000.
