John Lara became an ED Tech in our Emergency Department on July 8, 2019. John had three beautiful children, two sons ages 20 & 5, and a daughter age 17. On day one of his interview we knew that John would bring much joy to the ED department. From that point forward John brought so much sunshine to this department. John had a way of lighting up the ED when he came to work. He always demonstrated teamwork, he had a big personality, always had a witty comment or two, had a big smile, and loved what he did. His love for his job showed through the compassionate care he provided to his patients every day.

He always said that laughter was the best medicine and would bring that humor to his patients and colleagues. In speaking to John he would talk about his family, his passion for cooking, fishing, and adventures that he had with his children. According to John's sister, Elizabeth, John loved ORMC and felt that this was his family.

To John, you will be missed and heaven has one of the kindest souls.
