Appeal for little JC's operation

JC is only six month's old and had a degloving injury to one of his legs which had become infected and gangrenous, meaning that amputation was the only way to save his life. We're appealing for donations so we can continue to save animals like him.

RSPCA Cambridge is a local branch of the National RSPCA and provides animal welfare services, including a charity clinic and pet rehoming in South Cambridgeshire, Newmarket and Royston. See http://www.rspca-cambridge.org.uk and http://rspca-cambridge.blogspot.com for more details.

Story

JC's leg had become gangrenous following a degloving injury which had also crushed his toes on the injured foot so we needed to arrange an immediate amputation in order to save his life. This will cost at least £1,500 in total, including his aftercare needs and we are appealing for donations so that we can continue to help other animals like JC.

We weren't sure that JC was going to make it as there was a risk that infection had spread to his bloodstream but so far he is coming round well although he isn't out of the woods yet.
