Story

No one is a fan of January. But this year, beat the January blues and keep fit by supporting a good cause - tell January to jog on!

Elf's month-long January, Jog On! challenge will give you the motivation to stay healthy and engaged while seeing out the long winter days. Set yourself a target number of miles, then complete your goal and raise funds for Elf to ensure we can be there for everyone who needs us.

Hundreds of patients with blood cancer attend the RD&E each week. Their journey through the disease is often long and difficult. Elf offers personalised support to all these patients and their families.

HOW TO BECOME INVOLVED ...

STEP 1: SET YOUR TARGET

Set a target number of miles to complete during January. Try pushing your boundaries and challenge yourself so you attract more sponsors. It could be a mile a day, 2021 metres, 100 miles in total or a virtual marathon. How you achieve your goal is up to you a little bit each day, on set days or at weekends, in one go, or whenever you can find the time. As long as you complete your target by the end of the month, youre a winner.

STEP 2: SET YOUR ACTIVITY

Run, walk, trek, cycle, swim, row, cross-train or maybe walk your dog to pick off the miles. You can choose an activity that best suits your ability or complete your target with different activities.

STEP 3: SIGN UP & CREATE YOUR FUNDRAISING PAGE

Use the sign-up button in the top right-hand corner of this page to create your own unique fundraising page. Describe your target and activity, add a photo and set your fundraising goal. Log in if you already have a Just Giving account or register for your free account today. Do feel free to contact us for help and advice during the sign-up process.

STEP 4: PROMOTE YOUR PAGE

Share your unique fundraising page weblink with friends, family and colleagues via social media, email, text, phone or webchat. Every penny raised makes a big difference, so please raise as much as you possibly can. You could even get ahead of the game and start fundraising now by asking for sponsorship in lieu of Christmas cards or gifts.

STEP 5: YOU CAN DO IT!

Its time to beat those January blues, lose that Christmas weight and get fit for the new year. Dont forget to update donors, friends and family along the way. You can post updates, messages and photos through your fundraising page and social media.

If you would to share your daily exercise achievements, you can link the Strava fitness tracking app to your fundraising page. To do so, log in to your fundraising page and click connect to Strava. You can sign up for a free basic Strava account if you dont already have one.

STEP 6: YOU DID IT!

Congratulations! You completed your target and helped us support blood cancer patients and their families. Two reasons to feel good about yourself. THANK YOU!

If you have any questions about the campaign or how to sign up, please contact Gary Moore at garym@elfcharity.org.uk or phone/text/WhatsApp 07918 731582 .
