Visit the charity's profileWe know you understand the transformation that a gap year can bring to the lives of young people. As an organisation that relies on international travel to meet our aims, Lattitude has been seriously affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. We have made many tough decisions in order to create considerable costs savings for the organisation including, closing offices, suspending programmes, staff redundancies, cuts to staffing hours, spending and budget cuts in every department, and reducing wider administrative costs. However, in order for us to continue to provide our unique programming, we need your help.
Our fundraising goal is £40,000.
We are asking our alumni and supporters around the world to help us reach our goal during this difficult period with a monetary gift of £50. Of course, any amount you wish to give is most appreciated!
Lattitude would usually place around 500 young people overseas each year. In contrast, this financial year we will likely place less than 100. While we have made massive cost reductions, we still need to maintain a minimum infrastructure in order to operate this year, provide our current volunteers with the support and guidance we pride ourselves in, and then resume our regular activities next year once international travel reopens. Your assistance today will ensure that young people around the world will continue to have the opportunity of a life-changing gap year abroad. Lattitude has a long and vibrant 48 year history for which we are all enormously proud. We have sent over 45,000 young volunteers overseas to experience the personal transformation that can only come from volunteering abroad. Our bright, courageous and kind volunteers have provided invaluable service and inspiration to our partners worldwide including schools, outdoor camps, health care facilities, community organisations, and more. Despite the current challenges in international travel we are hopeful for the future and we will continue to do our very best work every day to provide these opportunities to young people globally long into the future.
