For over 22 years, Me2 Club has enabled children and young people with additional needs and disabilities in Reading and Wokingham to be included in the activities they love, so they can join in, build friendships, and thrive, delivering life enriching experiences alongside much needed respite care for their families. Our support enables children and young people to become more independent, feel included and access social activities.

But now, we face an urgent challenge.
Prevailing economic conditions and the recent additional burdens placed upon employers have not been kind to small charities such as ours. Despite our best efforts, we ended the financial year with a significant deficit, largely due to rising staff costs that were beyond our control. Without significant and immediate new funding, we will be forced to withdraw some, if not all, of our services, delivering a devastating blow to the Berkshire community.
“Me2 club is such a wonderfully compassionate and giving organisation - we have been blessed to have access to it” (Me2 Club Parent)
What’s at Stake if Our Services End:
•Over 120 children with disabilities will lose access to weekly mainstream leisure activities, as they rely on the one-to-one support of our dedicated volunteer buddies. Without this support, they will be excluded from experiences that promote inclusion, fun, and belonging.
•70 young people will be left without vital opportunities to build confidence, develop independence, and form lasting social connections. Our participation groups are often the only space where they feel truly seen, heard, and valued.
•Families will lose access to the inclusive and accessible events that allow them to spend quality time together, something many take for granted but is often out of reach for families with disabled children.
•Local activity providers will miss out on crucial inclusion training, leaving them unprepared and lacking the confidence to welcome disabled children into their settings, leading to further exclusion and inequality.
Without immediate support, the loss of these services will deeply affect children, young people, and families across our community. The ripple effect of this loss cannot be overstated.
Why We Need You
•The cost of running our unique support service has risen.
•Competition for grants and donations is tougher than it has ever been.
•Despite these challenges, we’re supporting more children than ever before.
What You Can Do to Help Right Now
We urgently need to raise £80,000 to keep Me2 Club running for the rest of 2025. Without this, children and families across our community will lose access to vital support. If we can raise this shortfall, we will be able to implement key measures that ensure Me2 Club becomes financially viable and sustainable into the future. With your support, we can not only protect our current services but also build a stronger, more resilient organisation for the years ahead.
Here’s how you can help us reach our goal:
•Make a Donation – Whether it’s £5, £50, or £500, every pound will help us keep children included.
•Share Our Appeal – Email it, post on social media, or WhatsApp it to friends and family. Spreading the word is just as powerful as giving.
•Ask Your Employer About Match Giving – Many workplaces will match donations you are making.
Donate now and be part of keeping inclusion alive
