Story

On Tuesday (10th August) this young pup was found, cold, hungry and in pain. Abandoned near the Cafe in Newsham Park he was rushed to the vets.

Veterinary surgeon David said "at first I thought he had dislocated his leg but after xray can clealy see he has a clean break of his fibula just below the knee" " he arrived in pain but hopefully the pain killers that were prescribed have now began to make him more comfortable.

The pup has been taken into the care of Merseyside Dogs Home, Lisa Philips a rehoming officer at the home has taken the puppy to her own home to look after, she said "he is young and can't have left his mum long ago, we are unsure if he has been weaned and eating properly so I am feeding him baby food at the moment until I am sure his digestion system is working properly"

The next week or so is important to the pup who has been named Newsham after the Park he was found in, he will need veterinary care and TLC to fully recover.

Merseyside Dogs Home is a charity and relies on public donations to help the lost and abandoned dogs of Merseyside, please help us to raise funds to help Newsham.

Merseyside Dogs Home

It is hard to believe that Merseyside has stray dogs. Many arrive with us after living on streets, empty premises and even railway lines. The greatest need of these dogs is human contact and a little affection. With over 600 dogs a year needing forever homes, please consider giving to help them.
