Story

Open Minds is a volunteer organisation with branches across the UK. We aim to educate young people about mental health to reduce the associated stigma.

At the University of York, student volunteers run programmes in local schools to educate on the topic of mental health. Volunteers are trained to increase their own awareness and understanding before delivering these sessions in the local community.

As the winners of The Volunteering Award at the University of York, they further wish to expand the project in increasing awareness and education, in delivering additional talks to the wider university and on campus, as well as reaching out to more schools to make an impact on future generations.

All of this is costly, so the project committee are looking for help to fund their activities and growth over the next year! Any donations big or small will help!
