The Snowmobile Ride-in to benefit Pine Tree Camp began in 1974 with a handful of snowmobile clubs riding into Newport for a weekend of events to support Pine Tree Camp, a summer camp for Maine children and adults with disabilities. Over the past 47 years, the event has raised over $4 million, translating into thousands of lives transformed by the Pine Tree Camp experience.

This years event will take place Saturday, February 1 and will feature a hearty community breakfast, a benefit luncheon and the famous Q106.5 Celebrity Egg Ride. And don't miss the Antique Pit Stop at the Penobscot Snowmobile Club featuring incredible vintage sleds! Refreshments will be sold by the Carmel Snowmobile Club to benefit Pine Tree Camp.

What is the Q106.5 Celebrity Egg Ride?

It's a messy annual tradition with Q106.5 personalities and other local celebrities stuffing raw eggs (one for every $50 pledged) into their snow suits and riding from Levant to Hermon as part of the annual Dysarts Snowmobile Ride-in to benefit Pine Tree Camp.

Maine's #1 for New Country Station has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Pine Tree Camp in Rome, Maine since first starting the Q106.5 Egg Ride more than 30 years ago.

Yes, it's messy, but with your generous donations, we are able to help cover the cost of camp tuition, so every child gets to attend regardless of their familys ability to afford tuition.

During January, the Q takes pledges from our listeners to support Pine Tree Camp. For each $50 in total pledges that we receive at the radio station, each of our celebrity riders has to carry a raw egg in their snowsuit at the ride on February 1.

The impact of your support

Every summer, more than 650 Maine children and adults with disabilities arrive at Pine Tree Camp and their lives are transformed. Driving down the camp road, campers enter a world that is barrier-free, leaving behind the confines of their disability thanks to our 285-acre fully-accessible campus, committed and well-trained staff and peer support.

At Pine Tree Camp, campers make friends for the first time; friends who understand what they are going through. Campers actively participate in all the activities for which Maine is famous kayaking, boating, fishing and hiking experiencing freedom and independence. In addition, Pine Tree Camp provides their families with much needed respite.

Since 1945, Pine Tree Camp has welcomed all who could benefit regardless of their ability to pay the $1,900 tuition. All proceeds from the Snowmobile Ride-in will go to Pine Tree Camps Campership Fund.
