Story

Thank you! On September 24th, 2020 Frankie "Flowers" Ferragine was joined virtually by 35 campers to raise $40,000 to help build the new Nature Centre at Scanlon Creek. To view photos and videos from the event on Facebook or Instagram search #RoughinitforaReason.

Thank you to all of our campers, donors, sponsors and volunteers. We couldn't have done it without you!

Will they camp in cold or comfort... that's up to you?!

Calling kids of all ages, families, corporate teams and community groups to register for Roughin' it for a Reason! Not your thing? Then support someone who is... they may just need it!

Roughin' it for a Reason is a campout fundraiser to help build a new Nature Centre at Scanlon Creek. On September 24th, celebrity campers (including Frankie 'Flowers' Ferragine) will be camping alongside the public to help raise awareness and funds for the new Nature Centre at Scanlon Creek. We invite you to join in on the fun and camp safely from your own backyard or balcony!

The fun part... you decide how to raise funds. Will your friends donate to help you get luxury items to keep you cozy and comfortable? Or will the more money you raise mean that you'll be left out in the cold under a tarp? You decide!

BIG NEWS!

Every person who donates to the event or sponsors a camper will be entered into a draw to win this fantastic prize pack from Cabela's worth $500!

Please note: Winner will need to pick up prize back from Cabela's in Barrie.

The Nature Centre at Scanlon Creek is the familiar home of outdoor education programs for generations of children. Sadly, it is now at end of life. If not rebuilt, outdoor education will end at Scanlon Creek. The new multi-use Nature Centre will be built by 2022 and will be the premier destination for learning about and experiencing nature. Especially during these challenging COVID days, time spent outside has such a profound effect on our physical and mental well-being. Let's re-connect with nature and a healthier lifestyle!
