Painshill is a living work of art, a jewel in Englands heritage and a garden design of international importance. It is a paradise of peace, beautiful follies and stunning views. The garden was lost after the Second World War and has been painstakingly restored since its rediscovery in the 1960s. Our education programme teaches 10,000 school children a year the importance of the outdoors, ecology and climate change. Our volunteer scheme gives the local community important activities for well-being.

Painshill has been forced to shut its doors to the public, to stop the spread of Coronavirus, meaning all income from visitor admissions, Tea Room sales, weddings and events will be lost. We have taken every step we can to save the charity, including furloughing 80% of our staff.

Painshill's future is extremely fragile. Painshill cannot survive this current crisis without help.

It has never been clearer that nature and open spaces are incredibly important for peoples well-being and mental health. Painshill is a vital resource for the community, which was proven just before we had to close due to Coronavirus restrictions. It is a place people can enjoy the benefits of exercise and being in nature, amongst trees and landscape and seeing birds. A moment of calm in everyday life. Painshill means so much to people and it is essential that we save this special place so that it can be enjoyed today and for many generations to come.
