The Secret Space is struggling. We need help, which is why we are reaching out to you.

Unfortunately on 22nd December 2021, The Secret Space was broken into and all the computers and tech, which is used to run the charity, were stolen from the office. The team are absolutely heartbroken. This has been a tough year for The Secret Space and this is a blow that is going to be very hard to recover from, along with the other challenges we have faced.

The Secret Space Charity has been - and is - a lifeline for the local community; a warm, accepting and unconditionally loving space for so many people. Established in 2013 we have provided a sanctuary where people from all walks of life can take part in yoga, Pilates and meditation, or receive a holistic therapy treatment. Much of this has been offered for free to those that need it.

Alongside this our training and volunteer programme has significantly changed the lives of many who have been struggling to rebuild their lives after surviving adversity. The opportunities offered have propelled many into paid work, and the provision of funded treatments, courses, classes and workshops has changed the lives of many within the addiction recovery communities as well as the mental health sector, those living with learning disabilities and people rebuilding their lives after living with domestic abuse.

When the pandemic hit, we joined the rest of the nation in looking for ways to support each other, to bridge the gap of loneliness and isolation, stress and depression that many found themselves facing. Our teachers learnt new ways of teaching as we shifted our classes to an online platform, and we introduced new classes, many of them free, to offer emotional support and community connection,

We are not funded and survive only through paying clients accessing our services. Despite all our best efforts our income has crashed. As a bricks and mortar venue we have fixed monthly costs and are simply not bringing in the revenue to pay the bills. Our reserves are dwindling fast.

Many yoga studios around the country are closing and we dont want to be one of them. What we do is too important. We need your help. So, this is the time for us to wear our hearts on our sleeves.

We dont want to let go of all that we do. So please, we need your help. We need to raise at least £15,000 to help keep us going. Every pound will make a difference, will help us to stay open, support our teachers, therapists and staff, and most importantly our volunteer community.
