This year more than any other - after 18 months of the COVID pandemic - we need to spread the word about sepsis.

Sepsis hasn't gone away - far from it. It seems unthinkable that in 2021 there still exists a condition that can kill a previously healthy adult in hours. It is estimated to take the lives of five people in the UK every hour. That's more lives lost to sepsis every year than to breast, bowel and prostate cancer combined.

Sepsis Research FEAT is the only charity in the UK that is raising awareness of this silent killer and fundraising to support the world-leading GenOMICC research being carried out at the University of Edinburgh. As our strapline says, our work is about saving lives today and funding research for tomorrow.

September is a huge month for raising awareness of sepsis, not just in the UK but world-wide.

Can you join Sepsis Research FEAT this Sepsis Awareness Month - 1st-30th September 2021 - and help us in our mission to save lives and improve outcomes for sepsis patients? Making sure that everyone is aware of the the five key symptoms of sepsis.

During this month-long event, we are inviting you to take part in fundraising activities to raise money for Sepsis Research FEAT. This might be an office bake sale, dress as you please day or team event. Or awareness activities in hospitals for staff and patients, or at your place of work, booking a talk in person or on Zoom.

You could organise your own event, raising awareness and funds at the same time. We have loads of ideas and plenty of materials that we can send you: leaflets, awareness cards, bunting and posters.

Alternatively you could take part in one of the many organised events already running up and down the country.
