Story
Due to a collapse in regular income as a result of the shutdown, St Johns has started a new fundraising campaign. Our goal is to raise £2.000 by 1st June to make up for the shortfall in income we are facing in April.
While we usually generate income through events, hall hire and donations from members of the congregation, the lockdown has forced us to cease these very activities. Unfortunately, closing the church building doesnt mean that running costs cease. We need to generate a significant sum of money each month to pay for unavoidable commitments: utility bills, salaries and stipends, insurance, essential works to keep St Johns safe for when we re-open and our payment to the Diocese which contributes towards the support of parishes poorer than ourselves. We have done what we can to rein in spending, but we still need to find between £8,500 and £9,000 each month. The total cash received in April is just below this amount.
For this reason, we would like to encourage anyone who is able to do so to support St Johns by contributing to our fundraising campaign. We are aware that these are lean times for all of us, but please rest assured that every little you are able to give helps us keep St Johns up and running.
Every little will be greatly appreciated and an enormous help to St Johns.
