Story
As the world takes on COVID-19, Books In Homes USA remains attentive to our most vulnerable members, children living in overburdened communities. The pandemic has had devastating effects worldwide, further stressing low-income families where budgets are already strained, and making vital school and community resources inaccessible, bringing to the forefront how vital home libraries are.
100% of every donation purchases books. Thanks to the Sasha Bolte Foundations challenge gift, every gift or fundraiser created benefiting Books In Homes USA kids will be doubled up to $2,000!
We remain committed to providing families the much-needed resources to overcome these new obstacles. Many students count on free lunch programs, as for many that is their only source of food. During this crisis, families are picking up these meals and their child's home assignments from food distribution centers and/or their school. Books In Homes USA is distributing at these locations, so as families pick up meals or school packets great free new books will be included. Increased unemployment is further lowering families' budget for food, so we're doing what we can to include additional food items. There's not a more vital time to help support families in literacy and beyond.
