Story

We've all learnt a thing or two about taking care of each other this year.

We looked after our shielding elderly relatives by picking up their medication. We pitched in to help our self-isolating neighbours when they needed groceries collecting. We protected each other by wearing face masks.

Will you do something to take care of those in the refuge this Christmas?

We care for women and children fleeing domestic abuse and are the only refuge of this type left in Devon. We receive no dedicated public funding so, to look after those who have fled their homes at Christmas, we need your help.

Here's how you can help:

The gift of dignity - donate £5 - give the gift of toiletries and food for those arriving at the refuge with nothing.

The gift of childhood - donate £10 - give the gift of toys, educational resources and school uniform for children at the refuge.

The gift of sisterhood - donate £20 - give the gift of sanitary products, and also clothes for a woman to attend a job interview, so she can move forward.

The gift of wellbeing - donate £30 - give the gift of books, therapy and resources to support the mental health of those affected by abuse.

The gift of support - donate £40 - give the gift of funds to provide staff for our live text talk service.

The gift of a better future - donate £70 - give the gift of coaching and counselling to empower someone to change the course of their life (and their children's), free from abuse.

Domestic abuse is a tough topic to talk (or even think) about - we know that.

But it isnt just a big issue. It's about real families - women and children - in our community who need your help.

Please donate today - your gift will change lives. Thank you.

Do you run a business? Would you make us your charity of the year for 2021 and be instrumental in helping us take care of the 250+ residents we house at the refuge across the year?

About the charity

We are a small local charity providing refuge for women and children fleeing domestic abuse in fear of their lives. While keeping them safe from further abuse we work with them therapeutically so they can move on from their abusers and head towards happier, healthier futures.
