Story
Welcome! We are TEAM FORESTS. Join us!
We are the tree people, the leaf-peepers, the foresters, and the hikers. We are the people whose necks hurt from looking up so often and who stop to smell the woodsy breeze on warm early spring afternoons. We believe our forests are living testimonies to the perseverance and majesty of nature, but we also know that forests and the benefits they provide both economic and personal are at risk; they are often times undervalued and at risk from forest land conversion to invasive species to pests such as emerald ash borers which threaten their very existence.

Why Team Forests?
The forest is a magical place the setting for so many of our childhood adventures and memories. As adults, forests provide refuge, places to find silence and green space away from busy and sometimes chaotic lives. Perhaps that is just an afternoon at a local park or a vacation spent camping under the stars. But even when we cant find the time to be in the woods, forests support us daily from providing clean air and filtering water, to cooling our planet, to providing habitat for song birds, reptiles, fish and mammals the forest provides life. And a well-managed forest provides for many other critical needs like lumber to build houses, firewood to keep us warm or paper to capture our thoughts. And lets not forget our urban forests; those individual trees in our yards and lining our streets. They too are important in helping moderate the temperature of our homes and businesses and in connecting us to the seasons as we watch them change throughout the year; the different shapes of leaves, flowers and fruit providing beauty to our landscape.
So, no matter if you have a single favorite tree or enjoy getting lost in the woods on a hike or can simply rest easy knowing they are silently doing the work of heroes, Team Forest is for you. Join Team Forests as we go for gold in the 2020 Conservation Games!
Help us build our team by inviting your family, friends, and colleagues to participate!
