As an organization with more than a century of experience in caring for our community, the Valley of the Sun YMCA responds quickly to these challenges; creatively expanding our programs to meet our community when, where and how we are needed most.

Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we can continue to ensure the health, safety and well-being of every YMCA child and family. We are working to pave the way for a bright future to all of our community no matter their age, race, gender or socioeconomic status.

DROWNING PREVENTION

Y programs provide critical safety around water knowledge and teach swimming skills for youth and adults.

In 2022, the Tempe Family YMCA will:

Provide 150 youth with swim lessons free of charge

Provide swim lessons as a component in early learning programs

ADVANCING CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT

Y programs are committed to executing experiences rich in social/emotional learning because youth do better when they have supportive adults nurturing their potential.

In 2022, the Tempe Family YMCA will: Provide affordable childcare to Tempe families through scholarships which allow children to grow and learn life skills in a safe environment

STRENGTHENING FAMILIES

Y programs support parents in creating stronger families to lower child poverty, reduce social-isolation, increase positive health outcomes, and increase family income.

In 2022, the Tempe Family YMCA will:

Provide scholarships for children to have access to our programs regardless of their ability to pay

Provide families with opportunities to experience the Y through membership and family activities

SUPPORTING SENIORS

Y programs work to reduce depression and fear through outreach and safe social gatherings.

In 2022, the Tempe Family YMCA will: Provide experiences for seniors to socialize and develop a healthy lifestyle
