Gables Farm Dogs and Cats Home has recently taken in three little kittens from the RSPCA who despite being 12 weeks old are only the size of kittens half their age. As a result the trio of boys have been named Tiny Tim, Teenie Weenie and Half Pint.

All three were cold, dirty and desperately underweight when they arrived at Gables. They were suffering from cat flu, and had sore watery eyes and runny noses, which made it difficult for them to breathe. As cat flu blocks their sense of smell they do not have much of an appetite so helping them to eat and gain weight is proving difficult.

They have been at Gables for just over a week now, during which time they have been bathed and given flea and worming treatment to make them more comfortable, and have started medication for cat flu. They still have a very long way to go before they are fully recovered and ready to start looking for new loving homes, but as Gables Farm are a genuine non-euthanasia charity they will not give up on these three little kittens.

It is estimated that it will cost the Home around £500 for the ongoing treatment and aftercare these little ones need and once they reach their target weight they will also need to be neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

General Manager Claire Sparkes said: When I heard of these three, all alone and in such a bad way I just knew that we had to help them. They have been seriously let down by humans and had a very traumatic start to their lives but we are determined to see that their future is a happy and healthy one.
